Discovery Preschool is a parent co-operative offering a nurturing, stimulating environment that isReggio and project inspired. With the teacher in the role of researcher, the children contribute to and negotiate the curriculum in partnership.
The daily schedule provides time for interactive play in a variety of interesting centers, gathering time, snack and group activities (e.g. yoga, drama, art, drumming). The students display and revisit their learning through photos, artwork and an artifact gallery.
Family and community play a crucial role in supporting the children’s inquiry and learning. Parents volunteer in the classroom on a rotational basis and each family assumes a job that contributes to the running of the program.

Parent Testimonials:
“I’ve seen my child grow so much at Discovery. She’s gained life skills and confidence, the free play and child driven curriculum always has her excited to go to school. Plus we’ve made so many new friends in the neighborhood and we look forward to carrying these friends into elementary school.”
“My daughter has socially grown in leaps and bounds. She has made so many wonderful little friends, learned so many new skills, and absolutely adores the teachers. She loves to tell me about the new creative projects they are doing in the studio. The teachers’ imaginations and take on learning are wonderful.”
